Eurovision is one of the most popular television shows in the world, held annually since 1956. This is the place where you encounter literally an encyclopedia about Eurovision.
The final of the National Selection took place live on two TV channels simultaneously - STB and UA:Pershyi - during which the artist who will represent our country at the competition in Sweden was determined. Jamala won. The judges gave the singer 5 points, the audience gave her the highest score - 6 points (37% of the votes).
- Thank you for your trust, - Jamala said from the stage.
Residents of Spain voted for 33-year-old singer Barei to participate in the annual Eurovision Song Contest. The singer will perform at the contest with her own composition Say yay, which caught the eye of the jury, which included a number of musicians who had previously participated in Eurovision. The composition is written in English, which makes the singer the first representative in the history of Spain at the prestigious contest to defend the colors of her country with a song not in her native language.
It’s already been an eventful year for Juliana Pasha, Albania’s representative for Eurovision 2010. Following her victory in December, bloggers suggested that her song Nuk Mundem Pa Ty sounded a little too much like Britney Spear’s Womanizer. But Juliana has pressed on in the face of the (rather absurd) criticism. She recently presented the English-language version of her entry. Unlike a lot of performers who lose soul during the translation process, she avoids “Eurovision English” and delivers an English-language song that really works.
