Christos Mylordos has been picked in Cyprus to represent the sunny island in Germany next year. His song will be picked later.
As announced before, the Cypriot broadcaster, CyBC, decided to go another way this year with their national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Namely, they decided to pick their singer before and then later, to pick a song for the artist. The show used for that was called Performance and a total of nine singers fought for the possibility to represent their country.
In the end it was Christos Milordos to take the trophy with more than 11,000 votes. He was followed by Louis Panagiotou with almost 6,000 votes and Annita Skoutela with a bit over 4,000 votes.
You can check out his performance in the video below.
This year Cyprus qualified for the Final in Oslo and finished 21st in it with Jon Lilygreen & The Islanders' song Life Looks Better In Spring. It was the first time since 2005 when a Cypriot representative qualified.

Cyprus: Christos Mylordos to Eurovision 2011
Tonight, Christos Mylordos was the winner of the local talent show Performances among nine contestants. Newcomer Christos will represent Cyprus in Germany with a song which will be selected at a later date.
After Germany and the Netherlands, Cyprus is the third country to select their hopeful for the 56th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. CyBC decided to change the method to select their entrant this year. Instead of the national final of the past years, the Cypriot broadcaster organised Performances, a local talent show whose winner gets to fly the Cypriot flag to Germany.
Tonight, nine artists (mostly newcomers) performed and the televote decided that Christos Mylordos should be Cyprus' 29th representative in the contest. The song Christos will perform next May will be selected at a later date.
